Katie Fitts
Travel Nurse, Blogger, Adventurer
Hi! I am Katie Fitts, creator of Nurse Never Lost. I hail from the beautiful city of Charleston, SC and have been a travel nurse on and off for nearly 6 years. I began my career as a staff nurse in the ED after nursing school at a wage not exactly comparable to the cost of living in Charleston. I found myself constantly picking up extra shifts and struggling to be able to live on my own or save money for a house. As a person with a gypsy soul I always longed for change and adventure. After 1.5 years as a staff nurse, I hopped on the travel nurse train and have been hooked ever since.
I now own a home, paid off a car loan, am making great strides to paying off school loans, and have a great savings account. I take as little or as much time off as I want a year depending on my budget.
With 15 assignments and counting I have travelled all over the country from Maine to Florida to New Mexico to Utah and so much in between! My assignments have been versatile from the ED to preop/PACU, a COVID crisis assignment in NYC, a stint as a COVID contact tracer, and even a camp nurse!
I love my job and all the freedom and flexibility it gives me as well as the chance to see this amazingly beautiful country I call home.
